​Charmaine Thomas

Vice President of Behavioral Health and Risk Management

Charmaine Thomas Charmaine Thomas is Vice President of Behavioral Health and Risk Management. She has administrative responsibility for Floyd Behavioral Health and risk management functions for Atrium Health Floyd. 

Ms. Thomas is also a nurse practitioner with more than 30 years of health care experience. 

She earned an Associate of Science in nursing from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. 

Ms. Thomas earned two master’s degrees -- a Master of Science in Nursing​ Family Nurse Practitioner and a master’s in advance care management and leadership – both from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. She is currently pursuing a doctorate degree at Augusta State University.

Ms. Thomas has served in leadership roles in several professional organizations, including the Georgia Organization for Nursing Leaders and the Northwest Georgia Organization for Nurse Leaders. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nurses, the American Organization for Nurse Executives, the American Society for Healthcare Risk Managers and the Georgia Society for Healthcare Risk Managers.

She has been with Atrium Health Floyd for 16 years.
