At Floyd Medical Center, we are focused on continually improving quality of care. It is part of our mission. As a Joint Commission accredited facility, we offer best practices in health care to maintain special certifications and accreditations. In addition, we use third-party vendors who use systems designed to assist hospitals in improving the quality of inpatient care and promoting medical excellence.
Patient Safety Award — Top 10% in the Nation, Region and State in Overall Medical Care
Floyd Medical Center has been recognized as being in the Top 10% in the Nation, Region and State for Patient Safety in Overall Medical Care in 2021 by CareChex Awards by Quantros.
Floyd also was awarded for being Top 10% in the State for Overall Hospital
Care for Patient Safety.

Floyd Medical Center received designation as a Level II Emergency Cardiac Care Center by the Georgia Department of Public Health. This means that we offer effective cardiac care for patients suffering a heart attack and can quickly and safely transport patients needing a higher level of care to an appropriate facility. Our care for heart attacks includes cardiac catheterization and angioplasty procedures.
Floyd Named to Forbes List of America’s Best-in-State Employers for 2019
The
rankings are based on a survey of more than 80,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 500 people.
Floyd Health System employs over 3,200 people and serves a six-county area.
Employees were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their employers to other job seekers. Participants also were asked to evaluate other employers either positively or negatively. In addition, participants were asked 35 questions about work-related topics such as working conditions, salary and potential for development.

Floyd Medical Center Receives Gold Plus Quality Award for Heart Failure
The American Heart Association has awarded Floyd Medical Center the Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for 2020. The hospital also earned Gold in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
The hospital was recognized for meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of
heart failure patients, including evaluation of the proper use of medications and aggressive risk-reduction therapies. The goal is speeding recovery and reducing hospital re-admissions for heart failure patients.
Floyd Medical Center Receives Gold Plus Quality Award for Stroke Care
For the sixth consecutive year, Floyd Medical Center has been honored by the American Heart Association for its effort in treating
stroke patients.
The Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award recognizes the hospital's success and commitment in ensuring that stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-driven guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.
Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd has been named a 2019 Hospice Honors Elite recipient. The award recognizes hospice programs that provide the highest level of quality as measured from patient and family members' points of view. This is the fifth consecutive year that Heyman HospiceCare has earned this award.
The Breast Center at Floyd was named a 2017 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey. This award recognizes top-performing health care organizations for patient experience. The Breast Center at Floyd also received this award in 2016.
Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award
Floyd Medical Center has been named a recipient of the Healthgrades 2017 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ for a fourth consecutive year (2014-2017). The award recognizes superior performance in hospitals that have prevented the occurrence of serious, potentially avoidable complications for patients during hospital stays.
Floyd Medical Center has been named a Georgia Safe to Sleep Hospital by the Georgia Department of Public Health, highlighting the hospital's continued commitment to infant safety.
Floyd Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was named Georgia Region One 2017 EMS Service of the Year by Northwest Georgia Emergency Medical Services. Northwest Georgia Emergency Medical Services is a collaboration between the Northwest Georgia EMS Advisory Council and the Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma, Region 1, and represents 16 counties across northwest Georgia.
Floyd Medical Center is an accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) with Resuscitation by the American College of Cardiology. Our program offers integrated, evidence-based care, quality initiatives, clinical best-practices and the latest guidelines into caring for our cardiovascular patients.
