And, we'll continue that treatment as we drive you quickly and safely to the Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center Emergency Care Center, which is the front door to our Accredited Chest Pain Center and Certified Heart Failure program.

Chest Pain Emergency Care

The Emergency Care Center is very much the front door to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center when you have a chest pain emergency. Our staff will quickly move you into our established chest pain protocols that are successful at getting patients into our cardiac catheterization lab quickly, efficiently and appropriately, because time is so vital to those experiencing a heart attack.

Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center is accredited as a Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology. Hospitals that have earned accreditation have proven their expertise in evaluating, diagnosing and treating people who are experiencing heart attack symptoms.

Patients in Polk County can be quickly and safely transported to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in Rome if needed. Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center exceeds national standards for how quickly we can restore blood flow after a patient comes into our Emergency Care Center. Our door-to-balloon time for angioplasty is faster than the standard required by the American College of Cardiology.

Heart Testing

You'll encounter our Cardiology services program when your provider or specialist recommends diagnostic tests. These can include echocardiography, stress tests and cardiac catheterization.

When you arrive at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center, our registration staff will collect your information and give you a personal pager to privately notify you when it is time for your test or procedure. From there, you'll enter one of our high-tech cardiology labs where heart experts will test your heart to make sure your provider has as much information as possible.

Your information will be securely shared with your provider through our electronic medical records system. And, if you'd like to see a record of your visit, you can do that through our online MyAtriumHealth patient portal

Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center and Atrium Health Floyd Cherokee Medical Center also offer some heart testing services.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Patients diagnosed with heart disease or who have been treated for heart attack may be referred to cardiac rehabilitation. Our Cardiac Rehabilitation program at Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center is fully equipped to help you build your strength and confidence as you heal and recover.
