​Floyd offers emergency care at three locations within northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama. ​Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia is the flagship Emergency Care Center. As a Level II Trauma Center, we are​ ​equipped to treat patients with life-threatening injuries 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Care for Life-threatening Injuries

Cherokee Medical Center 

The Emergency Room at Cherokee Medical Center can provide emergency evaluation, stabilization and treatment for ill or injured patients. Patients needing more complex care for traumatic or life-threatening injuries or illnesses can be transferred to Floyd Medical Center’s Level II Trauma C​​enter or another appropriate facility through Floyd Emergency Medical Services.

Floyd Medical Center - Level II Trauma Center

Floyd Medical Center is a state-designated Level II Trauma Center and a Level II Emergency Cardiac Care Center that provides around-the-clock emergency care, seven days a week. ​Our Emergency Care Center is specially equipped to treat patients with acute and life-threatening traumatic injuries, with access to the following services:

  • Anesthesiology
  • Angioplasty
  • Cardiac catheterization
  • Critical care
  • General surgery
  • Imaging
  • Neurosurgery​
  • Orthopedic surgery​

Polk Medical Center

​​​Polk Medical Center is a Level IV Trauma Center. At this location we provide advanced trauma life support, evaluation, stabilization and diagnostics for injured patients. Patients requiring more complex care for traumatic or life-threatening injuries or illnesses have direct access to Floyd Medical Center’s Level II Trauma Center. When necessary, patients can be transported by helicopter from an onsite helipad adjacent to the Polk Emergency Center.​​
