​​Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee​

A multidisciplinary antimicrobial stewardship team meets quarterly to review trends in antimicrobial use, resistance patterns, interventions, and reports its findings and ​recommendations to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.​

Team Progress

  • Implemented extended-infusion beta lactam therapy (for piperacillin-tazobactam, cefepime and meropenem)
  • Implemented rapid ID for blood stream infections and respiratory viral screening with PCR-based testing in lab
  • Transitioned from tracking antimicrobial use, antimicrobial resistance, and stewardship interventions in Theradoc to Epic​​

Future Projects

  • Convert the current reporting of antimicrobial use to NHSN via ASOLVA to Epic​​
  • ​​Begin reporting antimicrobial resistance to NHSN via Epic​​​​
