Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee
A multidisciplinary antimicrobial stewardship team meets quarterly to review trends in antimicrobial use, resistance patterns, interventions, and reports its findings and recommendations to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.

Team Progress
- Implemented extended-infusion beta lactam therapy (for piperacillin-tazobactam, cefepime and meropenem)
- Implemented rapid ID for blood stream infections and respiratory viral screening with PCR-based testing in lab
- Transitioned from tracking antimicrobial use, antimicrobial resistance, and stewardship interventions in Theradoc to Epic
Future Projects
- Convert the current reporting of antimicrobial use to NHSN via ASOLVA to Epic
- Begin reporting antimicrobial resistance to NHSN via Epic
