Hands-only CPR

A person who experiences a heart attack has the best chance of survival when CPR is performed immediately. Hands-only CPR has been shown to be just as effective as conventional CPR in saving lives and can be performed easily by any member of the general public who has received training. When performed immediately, hands-only CPR can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim's chance of survival.

Hands-only CPR does not require mouth-to-mouth breaths. To begin chest compressions, place one hand on top of the other. Then, with your arms fully extended, push hard and fast in the center of the chest at a rate of 100 compressions per minute.
