ROME, Ga., July 1, 2024 – The Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program has named Dr. Sierra Armbrust and Dr. Jacob Collier as chief residents for the new academic year beginning today. Chief residents are selected and voted on by their peers and are approved by faculty and staff. During their one-year term, they will serve in leadership roles, mentoring underclassmen and acting as liaisons between residents and faculty.
Armbrust received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia.
Collier received a Doctor of Medicine from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia.
The Residency Program is also welcoming 10 first-year residents, increasing from nine in the previous year:
Dr. Busayo Adesanya received Doctor of Medicine from Meharry College of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Fredrick Chambers II received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Alabama via Brookwood Baptist Health in Mobile, Alabama.
Dr. Ethan Harrison received a Doctor of Medicine from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
Dr. Oluwagbemisola Israel received a Doctor of Medicine from Trinity School of Medicine in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Dr. Keeliann Mark received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Pikeville- Kentucky College of Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Dr. Siena Pangtay received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth-Texas College of Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas.
Dr. Scott Rankin received a Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine via Bayhealth Medical Family Medicine Program in Grenada.
Dr. Steven Sochacki received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University College of Medicine via HCA Florida Westside Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dr. Ashley Thurstin received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from VCOM – Carolinas in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Dr. Emily Walthall received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from VCOM – Auburn in Auburn, Alabama.
