Atrium Health Floyd Announces New Residents, Names Chief Residents

ROME, Ga., July 1, 2022 – The Floyd Family Medicine Residency Program has named Dr. Adriana Delmonico and Dr. Gregory Rusiecki chief residents for the new academic year beginning July 1. Chief residents are selected and voted on by their peers, and are approved by faculty and staff. During their one-year term, they will serve in leadership roles, mentoring underclassmen and acting as liaisons between residents and faculty.

Dr. Delmonico received a Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados; a Master of Science in biomedical science from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas; and a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.

Dr. Rusiecki received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida; a Master of Science in biology from Georgia State University in Atlanta; and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Emory University in Atlanta.

The Floyd Family Medicine Residency Program is also welcoming a new second-year resident and eight first-year residents.

Dr. Chris Elias is a new second-year resident. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas, and a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.                                                            

New first-year residents are:

Dr. Sierra Armbrust received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.

Dr. Jacob Collier received a Doctor of Medicine from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science in pharmaceutical chemistry from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Dr. Meg I. Dotson received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas.

Dr. Jordan H. Grizzle received a Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados; a Master of Public Health with an epidemiology concentration from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia; and a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, Georgia.  

Dr. Sophia A. Kirchhoff received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Dr. Taylor Murray received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences from Troy University in Troy, Alabama.

Dr. Gracie Murray received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Shorter University in Rome.

Dr. Caleb Swindell received a Doctor of Medicine from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences from Middle Georgia State University also in Macon.

The Floyd Family Medicine Residency Program trains physicians in the specialty of family medicine. The program provides three years of academic and clinical post-doctoral education to medical school graduates and offers hands-on experience to residents in preparation for full-time medical careers.
