Athletic Trainers
On the sidelines for practices and games, and behind the scenes, our athletic trainers work tirelessly to ensure that young athletes can perform at their best while staying healthy throughout the season. This team is part of Atrium Health Floyd and provides athletic training services to our partnered high schools and colleges in Floyd, Bartow, Chattooga and Polk counties.
Adairsville High School
Alyson Worthey, LAT, ATC, earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is Sportsmetrics certified.
Armuchee High School
Chandler Ingram, MAT, LAT, ATC, is a certified athletic trainer at Armuchee High School. He earned a Master of Athletic Training and a Bachelor of Science in exercise science and wellness from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. As athletic trainer, he focuses on injury prevention, injury evaluation, emergency care, rehabilitation, treatment, collaboration with the health care team, and relationship building.
Berry College
Jessica Howard, MSAT, LAT, ATC, is an athletic trainer with Berry College. She received a master’s degree in athletic training from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega.is an athletic trainer with Berry College.
Katelyn Huggins is an assistant athletic trainer at Berry College. She earned a master’s degree in physical education and a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. She provides athletic trainer coverage for indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, equestrian, and men’s and women’s tennis.
Derek Kopp, MBA, LAT, ATC, is an assistant athletic trainer at Berry College. He received a Master of Business Administration from Berry College in Rome, Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science from Alma College in Alma, Michigan. He is Sportsmetrics certified. His clinical interests include manual therapy and corrective exercise. He also assists with orthopedic assessments for students at the Berry College Health Center. Kopp’s primary sport responsibilities include women’s basketball and women’s lacrosse.
Victoria Yatko, MSAT, LAT, ATC, CES, is an assistant athletic trainer at Berry College. Her primary areas of coverage are the men’s basketball, cross country, and track and field teams She earned a Master of Science in athletic training from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Yatko is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and holds a Corrective Exercise Specialist Certification.
Cedartown High School
Ben Truett is the athletic trainer for Cedartown High School. He earned a Master of Athletic Training from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. Truett is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association.
Cass High School
Adam Norman, MS, LAT, ATC, is the athletic trainer for Cass High School. He received a Master of Science in physical education with an emphasis in sports medicine from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega and a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association. Norman’s responsibilities include practice and game coverage for Cass High School athletics. He provides information on injury prevention and rehab, as well as education on injuries; completes functional assessments for return to play; and provides referrals.
Chattooga County High School
Alysa Fugal is the athletic trainer for Chattooga County High School. She earned a Master of Science in athletic training from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, and a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Montana Western in Dillon, Montana.
Coosa High School
Ashley Whelchel, LAT, ATC, is a certified athletic trainer at Coosa High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, Georgia, and is certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association. As a Coosa High alumnus, she enjoys the opportunity to be able work and give back to her alma mater.
Darlington School
Donnie Brown holds a master's degree from Life University and a bachelor's degree from Berry College. In addition, he earned a certificate as an emergency medical technician-intermediate from North Metro Technical Institute in Acworth. He is certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
Erin Kennedy is an athletic trainer at Darlington School. She received a Master of Science in athletic training from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and a Bachelor of Science in education, health and physical education, from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Kennedy is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. She has over 11 years of experience as an athletic trainer.
Georgia Highlands College
Amanda Moore is a certified athletic trainer in the community. She received a Master of Science in injury prevention, wellness and sport psychology from California University of Pennsylvania in California, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts in athletic training from Tusculum College in Tusculum, Tennessee. She is also a performance enhancement specialist.
Model High School
Josh Byrd serves as the athletic trainer for Model High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
Pepperell High School
Taylor Rain, LAT, ATC, is the athletic trainer for Pepperell High School. She received a master’s degree in athletic training from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville.
Rockmart High School
Hope Horne is a certified athletic trainer (ATC). She graduated from King University in Bristol, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Science in athletic training. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
Rome High School
Sarah Waters,MS, ATC, LAT, is an athletic trainer at Rome High School. She earned a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Her primary responsibilities include the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries across all high school sports at Rome High.

Shorter University
Christopher Fayne, MS, LAT, ATC, is an athletic trainer with Shorter University. He earned a Master of Science in athletic training, a Bachelor of Science in sports administration and a Bachelor of Science in exercise science.
Anna Guin, MM, LAT, ATC, is the head athletic trainer for Shorter University. Guin earned a Master of Business Administration from Shorter University in Rome and a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from the University of West Alabama in Livingston, Alabama. She is a board-certified athletic trainer and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Guin provides primary athletic trainer coverage for football, softball and golf.
Rachel Lamb, MEd, LAT, ATC, is the primary athletic trainer for the Shorter University women's soccer and baseball teams. Lamb earned a Master of Education in sports management from Millersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania. She is a certified FMT RockPods myofascial cupping provider and a certified FMT RockFloss compression band flossing provider.
Gabrielle Leaman, MAT, LAT, ATC, is the assistant athletic trainer at Shorter University, working with the men’s soccer and wrestling teams. She earned a Master of Athletic Training and a Bachelor of Exercise Science from Lebanon Valley College in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
Cameron Martin, ATC, LAT, is an athletic trainer at Shorter University. He received a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
MJ Yost, MAT, LAT, ATC, is an assistant athletic trainer at Shorter University. She provides primary coverage for the volleyball, men's basketball and cheer teams. Yost earned a Master of Athletic Training from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is a Level 1 HawkGrips IASTM provider.
Trion High School
Laurie Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
Unity Christian
Sean Burrows, LAT, ATC, earned a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.
Woodland High School
Austin Weizetl, LAT, ATC, is the athletic trainer for Woodland High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Industrial Athletic Trainer
Bo Bradshaw, MS, LAT, AT, is the industrial athletic trainer for Atrium Health Floyd. He earned a Master of Science in athletic training and a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. He is board certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Bradshaw has a special interest in the treatment of concussions, as well as lower extremity injuries.

Mendence, MEd, LAT, ATC, is the sports medicine athletic trainer coordinator for Atrium Health Floyd. She served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Berry College while earning her master's in education from Berry College. She also received a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, Georgia. Mendence is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association.
