Dr. Montgomery has practiced medicine at Atrium Health Floyd Northwest Georgia Medical Clinic OB-GYN since 1989.

His current area of practice is gynecology.

Dr. Montgomery earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia in Athens. He attended Vanderbilt Medical School in Nashville, Tennessee, and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He completed his medical residency at Charlotte Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He is a fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is a member of the Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecological Society.​
