Billing FAQs for Care and Services on or Before Aug. 5, 2022

If your question is not answered below, our patient financial representatives are available by email or phone, to help answer questions and make payment arrangements.

Will Atrium Health Floyd file my insurance claim for me?

Yes. We will file your claim using the information you provided when you registered to receive services. To verify that we have your correct information, contact us by calling the appropriate phone number for the service you received.  View telephone numbers.

What information will be on my billing statement?

Your bill will provide a summary of services and any insurance and co-payments that have been applied to your bill and the remaining balance.

What if I can't pay the full balance at once?

You must make payment arrangements within 30 days of receiving your bill. Our Patient Financial Services representatives will work with you to determine the option that best meets your needs.

Atrium Health Floyd provides long-term (over four months), interest free, payment arrangements through our partner, CarePayment. Payment arrangements can be up to three years, depending on the balance. You are able to add subsequent accounts to your payment plan.

What happens if I don't make payment arrangements or my balance remains unpaid?

If you are unable to pay your bill on time, please contact a Patient Financial Services representative at the appropriate telephone number listed below. If you do not make payment arrangements, the account will be placed with a collection agency or attorney with related fees added to the account balance.

How long will it take to settle with my insurance company, Medicaid or Medicare?

Most insurance providers pay within 60 days of receiving a claim. If you have not received notification of payment from your insurance company within 60 days, contact them directly.

How can I get an itemized bill?

To request an itemized statement, please call the appropriate telephone number for the service you received. View phone numbers

Is financial assistance available?

Patients who do not have commercial insurance or other coverage may be eligible for an income-based assistance program. Eligibility is limited to those whose income and family size fall within certain percentages of the federal poverty guidelines. Our patient financial counselors can discuss these options with you and may be reached at the appropriate telephone number based on the service you received. View phone numbers

Why am I getting multiple bills for different services?

Physician services are billed separate from hospital services. Each physician who provides a professional service for you while you are hospitalized will send you a separate bill. This includes any radiologists, pathologists and anesthesiologists who assist in your care. For questions about statements from Floyd providers, please contact us by email us or telephone.

Can I pay by phone or online?

Yes. You can pay your bill using the online bill payment portal or by calling the appropriate telephone number for the service you received. View phone numbers.

Where do I mail my payment?

Atrium Health Floyd billing statements are mailed with a self-addressed return envelope. If you have misplaced your envelope or wish to make an additional payment, please send your payment to the appropriate address:
