Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine uses very small amounts of radioactive material to diagnose and treat certain conditions. Radiopharmaceuticals are injected in small doses into the patient. This allows a radiologist to see internal body organs while they function to identify any issues.

Nuclear medicine is used to produce radiologic images of the heart, gallbladder, thyroid, bones, lymph nodes and Parkinson's disease.
