Free Expectant Parent Visits

If you’re expecting, we encourage you to schedule a free expectant parent visit before your baby is born. This will give you a chance to get to know the practice and team, while also giving you peace of mind you’re making the best choice for your growing family.

During an expectant parent visit, you can expect to:

​Your Baby’s First Visit

Though you can schedule an expectant parent visit anytime, there’s no need to schedule your baby’s first visit until after they’re born. Our pediatricians always have appointments saved for newborns, so just contact your baby’s doctor after delivery. They’ll schedule your baby’s first visit within a few days of birth. ​ ​

If your child ever needs more advanced care, Atrium Health Floyd’s board-certified pediatricians provide seamless coordination to specialized pediatric services. This includes easy connection to the Stephen D. Smith, MD, Pediatric Center at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center and to other health care systems.

Care at Schools

In addition to the care in our offices, Atrium Health Floyd is the official health care provider of schools in Chattooga, Floyd and Polk counties; Rome and Trion City Schools; and Darlington School. We provide nurses and certified athletic trainers to most schools in the area. We also offer virtual visits to students and staff, making it easy for your child to get medical care -​– without either of you missing class or work.
