A​s valued members of our ​team, residents are paid a competitive salary and are eligible for our extensive technology, educational and health benefits.

Compensation​

Residents are paid a progressive salary. In addition, first-year residents receive a $2​,000 moving and transition allowance.

  • ​PGY-1: $65,186.52
  • PGY-2: $68,492.52
  • PGY-3: $71,390.16

Amenities

Atrium Health Floyd is continually upgrading its technological capabilities and facilities to provide the best possible environment to provide quality care. Residents have access to all of these technologies and upgrades:

  • Inpatient and Outpatient serviced by EPIC Electronic Medical Records
  • PGY2 and PGY3 residents have access to DAX Co-Pilot
  • Dedicated resident lounge with computer access

Education and Licensing Benefits

Residents have access to a variety of educational and licensing benefits:

  • Free Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training
  • Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance:
    • PGY-1: $1,500
    • PGY-2: $1,700
    • PGY-3: $2,000
  • Paid memberships to the following professional organizations:
    • American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)
    • Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP)
    • American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP)
    • American Osteopathic Association (AOA) memberships
  • Allowance for Step 3 licensing and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
  • State temporary postgraduate training permit fee paid yearly
  • Paid two-week orientation (includes social activities and ropes course) 

Insurance and Health Benefits

Our residents enjoy the following insurance and health benefits:

  • Paid health and dental insurance premiums for residents and their families. Vision insurance is available.
  • Paid long-term disability insurance. Short-term disability insurance is available.
  • Life insurance free to resident (equal to two times annual base salary), and may be purchased for spouse and dependents
  • 401k option with matching contributions
  • Tax-free health and dependent care spending accounts
  • Medical malpractice insurance paid by Floyd for program-related activities
