Supplement Recommendations

Vitamins and minerals are essential and will promote proper healing and long-term health. While specific recommendations may vary to accommodate each patient’s particular health needs,

The following supplements should be taken by post-surgery patients:

  • Complete multivitamin with minerals
  • Calcium citrate 1800 milligrams
  • Vitamin B12 1000 micrograms, sublingual, three times per week
  • Iron

Supplements are not created equal. Type and brand, as well as, timing, matter when it comes to the nutrition you need after bariatric surgery.
