Fireworks Show to Shine Again on New Year's Eve

12.13.2024

Parks and Recreation Moves Extravaganza to 7:30 p.m.

ROME, Ga., Dec. 13, 2024 –Atrium Health Floyd and Harbin Clinic will partner with Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation to help usher in the new year with a fireworks show.

It marks the third consecutive year Atrium Health Floyd has presented the New Year's Eve Fireworks Extravaganza, and now Harbin Clinic is joining the festivities through its strategic combination with Atrium Health Floyd.

This year's event will start at 7:30 p.m. and will be launched from Jackson Hill, allowing people throughout Rome a fantastic opportunity to see the colorful display.

“We moved it from last year's 7 p.m. start to give families more time to get home from work and finish dinner so that they don't have to rush to see the show," said Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Director Todd Wofford.

More than 800 shells featuring all kinds of fireworks will be launched during the show, provided by Zambelli Fireworks, which has set off the fireworks on Independence Day for the past three years, according to Wofford.

“This will be a great way to welcome 2025," he added.

Atrium Health Floyd and Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation have a partnership that also includes the July Fourth Fireworks and Patriotic Party in Ridge Ferry Park, the Leprechaun-a-thon 5K Road Race and Health Walk in March and The Paper Doll 5K in October.

“We appreciate our relationship with Atrium Health Floyd. They have allowed us to make these events even bigger and better. It's a great thing for Rome and Floyd County," Wofford said.
