MRI

An MRI (magnetic resonance image) is a scan that gives a radiologist a detailed view of organs and tissue to help diagnose medical issues.

Atrium Health Floyd provides a variety of MRI scanners, including an open-concept, high-field machine that provides much clearer images while eliminating the enclosed feeling produced from closed MRI machines. This machine is appropriate for bariatric patients and is equipped with a dedicated breast imaging table that provides the ability to focus scans on breast tissue. With this equipment, we are able to get high quality scans in less than 30 minutes.
