Cancer Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are carefully controlled research studies that provide physicians with information on new treatments or procedures for cancer patients. Although these experimental treatment options are not right for everyone, they are available for cancer patients who are eligible and wish to participate.
The decision to participate in a clinical trial is a very personal one and depends on many factors, including the benefits and risks of the study and what the patient hopes to achieve by participating. Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center does not enroll patients in clinical trials, but will support patients in their choice.
If you are interested in learning more about clinical trials, talk to your physician or find more information at The American Cancer Society.
