Heyman HospiceCare Wins Elite Recognition for Fifth Straight Year

04.18.2019
Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd has earned Elite designation for the fifth consecutive year from an organization that works to help hospice and home health providers nationwide measure the quality of care they provide to patients. The Hospice Honors Elite award recognizes the top-ranking agencies among approximately 1,500 hospice agencies nationally.

Hospice Honors recipients include those hospices scoring above the HEALTHCAREfirst Performance Score on 20 evaluated questions. HEALTHCAREfirst holds a special recognition, Hospice Honors Elite, to honor hospices scoring above the HEALTHCAREfirst Performance Score on 100 percent, or all 24, of the evaluated questions.

The survey questions answered by patients and family members ranged from the quality of clinical care to the level of emotional support they received from the hospice team.

Casey Blankenship, Program Director for Heyman HospiceCare, said receiving this level of acknowledgment is evidence of the agency’s ongoing commitment to high quality patient care.

“We are committed to serving our patients with exceptional care and dignity,” Blankenship said. “This recognition demonstrates the impact we have on patients and the families we serve among our community,” she added.

Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd provides compassionate, comfort-oriented care to patients with a life expectancy of less than six months, serving patients who live in Floyd, Chattooga, Polk, Bartow and Gordon counties.

The professional staff and volunteers support patients and families with medical care, respite care and social services to reduce stress and improve quality of life. Referrals are accepted 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 706.509.3200 or 800.324.1078.
